It’s day six of my 12 Days of Cuteness – a celebration of pet cuteness over the 12 days of Christmas.
I’ve picked my favourite photo to begin the lineup each day but the rest are in no particular order.
If you want to be sure you see all the posts for the 12 Days of Cuteness, use this link.
Toby (dog of the day)
Handsome Toby is a three year old Shih Tzu mix. Toby himself writes, “I love my mail lady so much! Whenever I pass any mail truck I will stand on my hind legs to look into the truck to see if she’s there.”
“My name is Max and I am a four year old Shih Tzu. I live with my human mommy and daddy just outside Boston. I like to play run hard and catch frisbees in the air and I love my soccer ball.
Although I am just four, I have an old soul. Mommy calls me a ‘little old man.’ I like my dinner at 5 p.m. and I go to bed for the night by 7 p.m. If you try to move me after I’ve gone to bed, I’ll growl at you like an old man telling the kids to get off his lawn.”
This is six year old Mischa. Her mum says, “She was adopted from the Humane Society, so we’re not sure of her breeding. She is quite the princess and likes to let us know by her high pitched meowing when it’s time to wake up, go to bed, go outside or have food. She also enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Hamish the highland cow.”
This is Finnigan. His mum says, “He is a fat fluffy cat – breeding unknown. He was also adopted from the Humane Society after he winked at me from his cage. He is seven years old. He enjoys eating us out of house and home and making friends with any guest who comes to visit.”
Meet Simba, a one year old Miniature Schnauzer (he’ll be two in March). His mum says, “Simba loves belly rubs. If you stop rubbing his belly he’ll reach for your hand with his paw as if to say, ‘Ay keep rubbing buddy!”
This handsome young man is Breakfast, a three year old Boston Terrier. His mum says, “He’ll move his sleeping spot as the sun beam moves across the room.”

Breakfast’s mum also happens to be the very clever lady behind all of my favourite toys. I have a Chewy Lewis, cup cakes and cheese burger all handmade by her. Although I’m a Shih Tzu I’m a very strong chewer and have destroyed EVERY store-bought toy I’ve owned. I have yet to even loosen a thread on any of Kendyl’s toys.
If you’re also a strong chewer and interested in buying Canadian handmade dog toys, I can’t recommend Kendyl’s toys enough. As a bonus, they’re also very afforable. Buy them here (her Etsy shop is closed until January 7).
Meet Zena, a seven month old Yorkie who, according to her mum, “… goes WILD whenever someone says the word ‘treats’ we have to spell out the word now whenever it comes up in a conversation so she won’t start destroying the house going crazy.”
